Triumph introduces new 350cc TR-Series engine across 400 lineup

KATHMANDU: Triumph Motorcycles has introduced a new 350cc TR-Series engine across its 400cc lineup in India. The update applies to models including the Triumph Speed ​​400, Triumph Speed ​​T4, Triumph Scrambler 400 X, Triumph Scrambler 400 XC, and Triumph Thruxton 400.

The new downsized engine places these motorcycles in a lower tax category. The move is expected to improve accessibility in price-sensitive markets like India.

The company has introduced the new motorcycle in the market with a starting price of 195,000 Indian rupees, while the top variant is priced at 290,000 Indian rupees.

The updated 350cc engine is liquid-cooled and single-cylinder. It comes with different tuning across models.

On the Speed ​​T4, the engine produces 28.6 BHP at 7,500 rpm and 31 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The Speed ​​400 delivers higher output with 36.4 BHP at 8,500 rpm and 32 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

The Thruxton 400 gets a more performance-focused tune. It produces 39.4 BHP at 8,750 rpm and 32 Nm at 7,500 rpm.

Similarly, the Scrambler 400 X and XC models receive a tuned version of the same engine. They produce 39.4 BHP at 8,500 rpm and 32 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

All models are equipped with a 6-speed gearbox as standard.

Triumph has also introduced a new model, the Triumph Tracker 400. It uses the same 350cc TR-Series engine and expands the brand’s entry-level lineup.

Triumph Motorcycles motorcycles are already on sale in the Nepali market. With sales now starting in India, the 350cc models are expected to arrive in Nepal soon.
