KATHMANDU: Smart, the premium EV brand developed as a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and China’s Geely Group, has officially started sales in Nepal. CG Motors, the authorized distributor of Smart vehicles in Nepal, has started selling the Smart #3 electric crossover SUV.
Although two units of the Smart #3 had arrived in Nepal last year, official sales had not started at that time. CG Motors has now confirmed the start of sales. According to the company, construction of the Smart showroom in Thapathali is in its final stage, and full operations will begin soon. However, vehicles can already be delivered to interested customers.
The Smart #3 is marketed with the slogan ‘Styled by Mercedes-Benz and Engineered by Geely’. It features a sleek coupe-style design with a drag coefficient of just 0.27 Cd. The SUV comes with a rear-wheel-drive layout and a turning radius of 5.5 meters.

In terms of dimensions, the Smart #3 is 4,400 mm long, 1,844 mm wide and 1,556 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,785 mm.
The electric crossover is powered by a 200 kW motor producing 342 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. The Nepal-spec model uses a 66 kWh NCM battery, the same version sold in European markets. It supports up to 150 kW DC fast charging and can also be charged using a 7.4 kW AC home charger.

The Smart #3 comes with a premium feature set, including 19-inch alloy wheels, frameless doors, panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and a feature-rich digital cabin.
CG Motors has introduced the Smart #3 in Nepal in three variants: Pro Plus priced at Rs 9.99 million, Premium at Rs 11.49 million and Premium Matte at Rs 12.49 million. Alongside the #3, the company is also offering the Smart #1 electric SUV in the Nepali market, which is available in two variants; Pro Plus priced at Rs 9.99 million and Premium priced at Rs 11.99 million.
