KATHMANDU: Tata Motors is preparing to launch its new electric SUV, the Tata Sierra, in the first quarter of 2026. The compact SUV was showcased in a near-production form at the India Mobility Expo in January 2025.
The Sierra will be introduced first as an electric model. Petrol and diesel variants are planned to arrive at least three months later.
The Sierra EV will be offered with 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs. The larger option is expected to deliver a range of up to 600 km on a single charge. It will feature a rear-wheel-drive motor.
For the internal combustion versions, Tata will provide a 1.5-liter turbo engine for petrol and a 2.0-liter engine for diesel. The company has not yet revealed the motor power details of the electric version.
