KATHMANDU: Triumph’s most affordable motorcycle is set to go on sale in Nepal from tomorrow. Hansraj Hulaschand & Co., the authorized distributor of Triumph motorcycles in Nepal, is set to launch the new Speed T4 in the 400cc segment at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo. The motorcycle will be officially introduced at the expo starting tomorrow.
The Speed T4 is an entry-level model from Triumph. It is arriving in Nepal nearly two years after its launch in India.
The new Triumph Speed T4 is based on the same platform as the Speed 400. It is the most affordable model in Triumph’s current lineup. The company is also expected to position it as its most affordable motorcycle in Nepal.
The Speed T4 gets a 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve, DOHC TR-series engine. It produces 31 PS of maximum power and 36 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle features a round LED headlamp, a round 13-liter fuel tank and a slim tail section. It also gets an all-new dual-format LCD instrument cluster displaying the tachometer, odometer, trip meter and other information.
The new Triumph Speed T4 comes with a retro roadster design and new graphics. It gets a comfortable seat, manual throttle body control, slipper clutch, 43mm telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear suspension.
Other features include dual disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, torque-assist slipper clutch, USB port, full LED lighting and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Although the Speed T4 shares the same platform as the Speed 400, it produces lower engine output. Triumph has also reduced some features to keep the motorcycle’s price lower.
In Nepal, the Speed T4 is expected to be priced around Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000 lower than the Speed 400.
The Triumph Speed 400 is currently priced at Rs. 689,900 in Nepal.
