KATHMANDU: The TVS NTORQ 125 has played a major role in shaping Nepal’s sporty scooter market. Since its introduction, the scooter has built a strong following among young riders with its sporty design, performance and connected features.

Now, TVS is looking to build on that success with the NTORQ 150.

The new scooter was unveiled in Nepal by Jagdamba Motors, the authorized distributor of TVS, at the NAIMA Mobility Expo 2026. Bookings for the scooter have already opened in Nepal.

The NTORQ 150 is positioned above the NTORQ 125 and brings a larger engine, stronger performance and more premium equipment.

The NTORQ 125 stood out in a market dominated by commuter-focused scooters. Its aggressive styling, sporty performance and technology helped it establish a distinct identity among younger buyers.

TVS is carrying the same philosophy into the NTORQ 150.

The new scooter gets a sharper design inspired by stealth aircraft. It also features a sporty riding position, aerodynamic winglets and LED lighting.

The TVS NTORQ 150 is powered by a 149.7cc, single-cylinder, three-valve engine with TVS’ O3C (Oil-Cooled Combustion) technology.

The engine produces 13.2 PS at 7,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. TVS claims a 0-60 km/h acceleration time of 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 104 km/h.

The scooter also gets Race and Street riding modes, along with iGO Assist technology. Safety features include single-channel ABS and traction control.

The NTORQ 150 weighs 115 kg and has a 5.8-liter fuel tank. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels and gets a 220mm front disc brake. The existing NTORQ customer base could be one of the biggest advantages for the new model.

Riders who already like the NTORQ 125 but want more performance can now move to a larger and more powerful scooter without moving away from the same product family.

This could give the NTORQ 150 an advantage over new entrants in the performance scooter segment.

Scooter buyers are increasingly looking beyond basic urban commuting. Younger customers are showing greater interest in acceleration, styling, technology and highway capability.

The NTORQ 150 is designed to address these demands with its larger engine and performance-focused setup.

Its connected features also strengthen its appeal. Depending on the variant, the scooter gets a TFT display, navigation, smartphone connectivity, call and message alerts, music controls and other connected functions.

The biggest question for the NTORQ 150 in Nepal is likely to be its price.

The official Nepal price has not been announced yet. However, the scooter is expected to be positioned below the Rs 400,000 mark, with market estimates putting it around Rs 360,000 to Rs 400,000.

A competitive price could make the NTORQ 150 an attractive upgrade for existing NTORQ customers and help it reach a wider audience.

The NTORQ name already has strong recognition in Nepal. The NTORQ 150 therefore does not have to build a new identity from scratch.

Its success will ultimately depend on how competitively Jagdamba Motors prices it and whether the additional performance and technology justify the premium over the NTORQ 125.
