KATHMANDU: TVS has launched a new entry-level electric scooter named the Orbiter in India. The scooter is priced at 99,900 Indian rupees (ex-showroom). It is positioned below the iQube in the company’s portfolio.
The TVS Orbiter comes with a futuristic design. It features an LED DRL strip around the front apron and a sleek LED headlamp. The scooter has a short windscreen, a flat seat, 34 liters of under-seat storage and a flat footboard.
The Orbiter is powered by a 3.1 kWh battery. It delivers a range of 158 km on a single charge. Unlike the iQube, it does not come with multiple battery options.
The scooter runs on a 14-inch front wheel and a 12-inch rear wheel. It uses a telescopic front fork and dual rear shock absorbers.
The Orbiter is equipped with a digital instrument console. Features include turn-by-turn navigation and over-the-air updates. It also offers anti-theft, crash and geo-fencing alerts.
Other highlights are cruise control, hill-hold assist, and parking assist. The scooter provides two riding modes, Eco and Power.
The TVS Orbiter will compete with Ola S1 Z and River Indie in the Indian market.
