KATHMANDU : TVS Motor’s new electric scooter, the TVS Orbiter V2, will go on sale in Nepal from Thursday. Jagdamba Motors, the authorized distributor of TVS in Nepal, is set to officially launch the scooter tomorrow.
The Orbiter will become TVS’ second electric two-wheeler in the Nepali market after the TVS iQube.
The company has not yet announced the official retail price. However, dealer sources say the scooter will be launched at an introductory price of Rs. 282,000.
The TVS Orbiter is designed primarily for urban commuting. It is powered by a 3.1 kWh battery pack, which delivers an IDC-certified range of up to 158 km on a single charge. TVS, however, claims a practical riding range of up to 130 km.
Power comes from a 2.5 kW peak BLDC rear hub motor, enabling a top speed of 68 km/h.
The scooter comes equipped with a color LCD digital instrument cluster integrated with the TVS Connect app. Other features include a full LED lighting system, LED DRLs, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, live location tracking, over-the-air (OTA) updates, hill hold assist, anti-theft function, crash alert, cruise control, regenerative braking technology, motor cut-off technology, multiple riding modes, reverse mode, reverse parking assist and a USB charging port.
The Orbiter also offers 165 mm of ground clearance, a flat seat, alloy wheels, a flat floorboard, 34 liters of under-seat storage, tubeless tires, drum brakes, telescopic front suspension and dual rear shock absorbers.
