Two new electric SUVs poised to make their Nepal debut

KATHMANDU: Two new electric SUVs are set to enter the Nepali market in the month of Jestha (mid-May to mid-June). The models will be introduced by MG Motor and Omoda, ahead of the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27 budget on May 29, 2026.

The official distributor of MG in Nepal, Paramount Motors, has already brought the MG S6 into the country. The model is currently undergoing customs clearance at Chobhar. Pricing details are yet to be announced.

The MG S6 will be an all-new model for Nepal. It measures around 4.7 meters in length. The SUV comes with a 77 kWh LFP battery. It offers a WLTP range of up to 530 km. The electric motor produces 180 kW of power.

Once launched, the S6 is expected to compete with models like Deepal S07, Leapmotor C10, and BYD Sealion 7.

Meanwhile, the official distributor of Omoda in Nepal, SPG Automobiles, is preparing to launch the facelifted Omoda E5. The SUV was first introduced in Nepal in 2024 and gained good market response.

The updated E5 will be available with a 50.6 kWh battery option. The earlier version came with a 61 kWh battery. The new variant is expected to be more affordable. The company has also increased the overall size compared to the previous model.

The Omoda E5 features a coupe-style SUV design. It is known for its design and performance in the segment.
