KATHMANDU: Bajaj Auto is preparing to update the Pulsar RS200, with a test motorcycle spotted with several new features, including upside-down (USD) front forks and a TFT instrument cluster, according to Rushlane.
The updated RS200 is expected to receive a more comprehensive equipment upgrade while retaining its existing full-faired design.
The biggest change is the addition of USD front forks. The current RS200 uses conventional telescopic forks. The test motorcycle continues to feature a rear monoshock, alloy wheels and disc brakes at both ends.
The motorcycle has also been spotted with a new rectangular TFT instrument cluster. The display features a large speed readout, gear-position indicator and bar-style tachometer.
The updated RS200 is also expected to get revised switchgear and adjustable clutch and brake levers. A covered port beside the instrument cluster suggests the addition of a USB charging port.
Bajaj could also offer connected features, including navigation, with the new TFT display. Electronic throttle control, additional riding modes and traction control are also possible, although these features have not been confirmed.
The test motorcycle retains the familiar RS200 styling, including its full fairing, twin-projector headlamps, raised windscreen, fairing-mounted mirrors and angular side panels.
The engine is expected to remain largely unchanged. The current RS200 uses a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 200cc, four-valve engine that produces 24.5 PS at 9,750 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The current Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is priced at 180,528 Indian rupees in India.
Bajaj has recently been updating its Pulsar lineup. The company has introduced updated versions of the N160, Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150, while updated versions of the NS200, N250 and NS125 have also been spotted. The NS400Z with a TFT display was launched on October 1.
The updated Pulsar RS200 is expected to launch soon. In Nepal, Bajaj motorcycles are distributed by Hansraj Hulaschand & Company.
