Volvo to launch ES90 sedan and EX90 SUV in India

KATHMANDU: Volvo India has confirmed that it will launch two new flagship electric vehicles in the Indian market in the coming months. The models are expected to be the ES90 electric sedan and the EX90 electric SUV.

Speaking about the company’s EV roadmap, Volvo India Managing Director Jyoti Malhotra said the brand had committed to launching one electric vehicle every year, according to Autocar India.

After introducing the EX30, Volvo will now expand its lineup with two flagship models from the 90 Series.

Both the ES90 and EX90 are built on Volvo’s SPA2 platform and feature an 800-volt electrical architecture, enabling faster charging, improved efficiency, and enhanced performance.

The Volvo ES90 is equipped with a 106 kWh battery pack that delivers a WLTP-certified range of up to 700 km. Using a 350 kW DC fast charger, the battery can gain up to 300 km of range in just 10 minutes.

The Volvo EX90 features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup paired with a 111 kWh battery pack. Volvo claims a WLTP range of up to 600 km on a full charge.
