KATHMANDU: Royal Enfield motorcycles are popular among riders looking for a comfortable ride, classic styling and a distinctive riding experience. The brand has maintained its traditional design while adding modern features to its lineup.
Royal Enfield has now introduced a special version of its popular Classic 350, called the Gorkha Edition. The motorcycle combines the Classic 350’s retro design with styling elements inspired by the Gorkha Regiment.
The Gorkha Edition was launched in India and later introduced in Nepal by Alpha Automotive. It is priced at Rs 599,000 in the Nepali market.
Gorkha-inspired graphics
The biggest highlight of the Classic 350 Gorkha Edition is its Gorkha Green colour. Inspired by military styling, the color gives the motorcycle a distinct and rugged appearance.
The side panels feature a crossed-khukuri emblem, while the fuel tank gets a special ‘Gorkha Edition’ graphic. These elements give it a different identity compared to the standard Classic 350.
Dedicated to the Gorkha Regiment
Royal Enfield has introduced the Gorkha Edition as a tribute to the heritage and legacy of the Gorkha Regiment. Its name, military-inspired color and khukuri emblem distinguish it from other Classic 350 variants.
The historical and cultural association of the Gorkha identity and khukuri with Nepal also makes this edition particularly relevant to the Nepali market.
Same Classic 350 platform
Despite the special styling, the Gorkha Edition retains the Classic 350’s original retro design and mechanical package. The combination of the classic shape with the new military-inspired color and graphics gives it a different look.
The motorcycle is powered by the same 349 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled J-Series engine. It produces around 20.2 bhp of power and 27 Nm of torque and comes with a 5-speed gearbox.
It also gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, assist and slipper clutch, Type-C USB charging port, dual-channel ABS, wire-spoke wheels, round mirrors, a chrome-finished headlight and chrome exhaust.
The engine and features remain largely the same as the regular Classic 350. The key difference is its Gorkha-inspired design, military-style color and exclusive graphics, which give the special edition its distinct identity.
