KATHMANDU: Royal Enfield has announced that global sales of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 have crossed 600,000 units within five years of its launch.
The Meteor 350 was first introduced in November 2020 and became the first model built on Royal Enfield’s J-series platform. The same platform is now used in several other motorcycles, including the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Royal Enfield Hunter 350, and Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350.
The Meteor 350 is positioned as a mid-size cruiser designed to offer comfortable riding for a wide range of buyers, including first-time motorcycle owners. Apart from India, the model continues to see strong demand in international markets such as Latin America, Europe, and the SAARC region.
Powering the motorcycle is a 349cc air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 20.2 BHP at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and features a slipper clutch.
The Meteor 350 comes equipped with a semi-digital instrument cluster, Tripper navigation pod, LED lighting, USB Type-C charging port, and adjustable levers.
In Nepal, Royal Enfield motorcycles are distributed by Alpha Automotive. The company assembles and sells Royal Enfield models locally, including the Meteor 350. Local assembly has helped keep the price relatively competitive in the Nepali market.
The cruiser motorcycle segment in Nepal has limited options, which has helped the Meteor 350 gain popularity among buyers looking for an affordable mid-size cruiser.
