KATHMANDU: Royal Enfield Nepal has introduced a new variant of the Himalayan 450 motorcycle in the local market.

The official distributor, Alpha Automotive, has launched the Himalayan 450 Rally Edition. The company has set the starting price of the new variant at Rs 10, 80,000.

The Rally Edition, available in Mana Black, features an all-black theme. It looks more premium, aggressive, and is focused on off-road performance.

The Himalayan 450 is already available in five other color options in Nepal. Apart from color, all variants share similar mechanical components.

Compared to other variants, the Rally Edition adds several off-road-focused elements. These include a full black finish, hand guards, rally-style front fender, high-mounted mudguard, single-piece rally seat, tubeless wire-spoke wheels, and a shorter rear section. These upgrades are aimed at improving off-road riding capability.

There are no mechanical changes in this new variant. It continues to use a 452cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, four-valve Sherpa engine. The engine produces 40 PS of power and 40 Nm of torque.

The motorcycle comes with a 6-speed gearbox, along with an assist and slipper clutch.

In terms of features, the Himalayan 450 offers ride-by-wire throttle, switchable ABS, TFT display, Google Maps navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, ride modes, USD forks, mono-shock suspension, and a USB charging port.
