KATHMANDU: Alpha Automotive and Morang Auto Works (MAW) have donated a combined Rs 21.1 million to support victims of the Bhote Koshi floods.
Both companies deposited the amount into the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund on Friday. The contribution will support rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-affected areas.
Alpha Automotive contributed Rs 10 million to the fund. The company is the official distributor of Royal Enfield motorcycles in Nepal.
Morang Auto Works contributed Rs 11.1 million. MAW is involved in the distribution of several automotive brands in Nepal, including Yamaha, Changan and Dongfeng/Nammi.
Earlier, BYD and its Nepal distributor Cimex Inc. jointly donated Rs 70 million to the relief fund.
Maxus Nepal contributed Rs 7 million, while NADA donated Rs 1 million. Mega Motors also provided Rs 1 million in support of the flood relief efforts.
