KATHMANDU: Honda’s next-generation City is set to take a major design leap, with early reports indicating strong inspiration from the brand’s new 0 Series sedan concept.

The 0 Series was recently showcased at the Japan Mobility Show as Honda’s future EV flagship and a preview of its upcoming design direction.

Early mock-ups suggest the 6th-gen City will adopt several elements from this concept, including a sleeker and sportier front profile and a front quarter glass design said to be inspired by the Lamborghini Countach.

The model is also expected to shift to Honda’s PF2 modular platform, which promises higher rigidity and up to 90 kg in weight reduction.

Engine options are likely to remain familiar. The new City is expected to continue with petrol and hybrid choices offered in the current model, which uses a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle hybrid unit.
