Tribhuvan International Airport to shut for nearly 7 hours

KATHMANDU : Tribhuvan International Airport will remain closed for nearly seven hours daily starting today.

The closure is aimed at accelerating taxiway construction work near the runway. According to the airport office, the shutdown will continue until May 17, 2026.

Flight operations, including take-offs and landings, will be suspended daily from 11:45 PM to 6:30 AM. Previously, the airport used to close for five hours, from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

As per the issued NOTAM, construction work will take place in taxiway areas including Bravo, Charlie, Cubic, and Romeo, located near the runway.

With extended closure hours, airlines have been requested to reschedule their flight operations accordingly.
