KATHMANDU: Paramount Motors, the official distributor of MG Motor in Nepal, has introduced the new MG S6 SUV in the domestic market. The company is expected to begin sales within the next few days.
The MG S6 enters the 4.7-meter SUV segment and will compete with models like Leapmotor C10, BYD Sealion 7, Deepal S07, and JAC J6T. However, it stands out with the most powerful motor in its segment.
According to the company, the MG S6 comes with a 180 kW electric motor. In comparison, the Leapmotor C10 offers 160 kW, the J6T 135 kW, the Sealion 7 100 kW, and the Deepal S07 99 kW.

The SUV also gets attention for its battery and range. It is equipped with a 77 kWh LFP battery pack. The claimed WLTP range is 530 km. Globally, the S6 is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. In Nepal, it is expected to come in a rear-wheel drive variant.
The MG S6 supports up to 144 kW DC fast charging. The company claims it can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 38 minutes. Performance is another highlight. The AWD version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, while the RWD version takes 7.3 seconds.
Inside, the cabin is largely based on the MG4 EV design theme. It features a 12.8-inch touchscreen, 11 speakers, heated seats, and a panoramic sunroof. A front trunk (frunk) is also available.

In terms of technology, the S6 offers adjustable regenerative braking, one-pedal driving, and features like ‘Rain Night Mode’ seen in higher MG models.
The exterior design shares similarities with MG’s current EV lineup at the front, while the rear gets a distinct SUV styling. The MG S6 is positioned as a proper full-size electric SUV for the segment.
