KATHMANDU: BYD’s luxury sedan, the Yangwang Altior, has been spotted without camouflage ahead of its official debut in the UAE, expected around November 5, 2026.
The new flagship sedan is designed to compete with high-end luxury models such as the Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class, Rolls-Royce Ghost and Maextro S800.
Previously known by its internal codename HU, the sedan is called Dingyao in the Chinese domestic market. It adopts the design language first introduced in the Yangwang U8 luxury off-roader.
On October 30, BYD Fan Club shared the first image of the car without camouflage. The image reveals a large black front grille, a rectangular active air intake and headlamps integrated into the front bumper.
The front daytime running lights feature a design inspired by the ancient Chinese ding vessel, which has two legs and two handles on its rim.

The vehicle in the image is finished in bronze with a black bonnet. It also features a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, which is part of BYD’s God’s Eye advanced driver assistance system.
The Yangwang Altior is expected to measure around 5,500 mm in length, with a wheelbase of 3,350 mm. This makes it approximately 100 mm longer than the standard Rolls-Royce Ghost.
The luxury sedan is expected to feature hydraulic suspension and a four-motor electric powertrain. However, BYD has not officially disclosed its technical specifications.
The UAE debut is expected to provide more details about the company’s flagship luxury offering.
