KATHMANDU: MG Motor is set to start sales of the new MG S6 electric SUV in Nepal from Monday. The SUV will be launched by Paramount Motors, the official distributor of MG vehicles in Nepal.
The MG S6 will become the largest model in the company’s EV lineup in Nepal. MG currently sells the MG4 and MG S5 in the domestic market. The S6 will join the lineup as a new premium electric SUV option.
MG has been selling electric vehicles in Nepal for the past eight years. The brand has already established a strong presence in the EV segment. With the launch of the S6, the company is expected to strengthen its position further in Nepal’s growing electric SUV market.
The MG S6 is a 4.7-meter-long SUV powered by a 180 kW electric motor. It comes with a 77 kWh LFP battery pack supplied by CATL. According to the company, the SUV offers a WLTP-certified driving range of 530 kilometers on a single charge.
The rear-wheel-drive SUV supports up to 144 kW DC fast charging. MG claims the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around 38 minutes.

Inside the cabin, the S6 shares several design elements with the MG S5. It features a 12.8-inch infotainment screen, 11-speaker audio system, heated seats, panoramic sunroof, and a front storage compartment.
The SUV also comes with advanced technology features including adjustable regenerative braking, one-pedal driving, and an optional Rain Night Mode previously seen on the IM6.
In terms of design, the front profile looks similar to the MG S5. However, the rear section gets a more distinct SUV appearance, giving the S6 a more traditional and upright SUV stance.
