KATHMANDU : Morris Garages (MG) has started sales of the HS Plug-in Hybrid SUV in Nepal. Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of MG vehicles (China) in Nepal, has introduced the MG HS PHEV at the ongoing NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026.

The MG HS Plug-in Hybrid is priced at Rs. 12 million in Nepal. The SUV combines performance, electric driving range and practicality.

The MG HS PHEV gets a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 135 kW electric motor. The combined output stands at 295 bhp.

The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. The electric motor and battery also provide a smooth driving experience.

One of the key highlights of the MG HS PHEV is its electric range. MG claims an electric range of 120 km. Various tests have recorded more than 110 km of pure electric range.

The plug-in hybrid SUV has a claimed carbon emission figure of just 12 grams per kilometer. By comparison, an average petrol car emits around 17 kg of carbon dioxide over a 100 km journey.

The MG HS also offers a spacious interior. It has a 507-liter boot capacity, which is among the larger capacities in its segment. The dashboard features two 12.3-inch screens.

Other features include 19-inch alloy wheels, heated leatherette seats, a 360-degree camera and keyless entry. It also gets ventilated front seats, a head-up display and wireless smartphone charging.

Paramount Motors offers a five-year or 100,000 km warranty on the motor. The battery comes with an eight-year or 150,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.
