KATHMANDU: Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of MG in Nepal, has started preparations to introduce the new MG S6 electric SUV.

The model is already available in international markets and is gaining attention for its long driving range.

The MG S6 comes with a 77 kWh NMC battery. It delivers a WLTP-rated range of up to 530 km on a single charge. A smaller 62.2 kWh battery option is also available internationally, paired with a rear-wheel-drive motor.

Globally, the MG S6 is offered in rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions. For Nepal, the company plans to bring only the RWD variant. The exact motor output for the Nepali-spec model has not been confirmed yet.

In China, the RWD version uses a 180 kW motor, while the AWD variant produces 266 kW. In Singapore, a right-hand-drive market, the MG S6 is set to launch with a 109 kW motor.

The MG S6 supports DC fast charging of up to 144 kW, depending on the battery. MG claims it can charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 38 minutes.

Performance is also strong. The AWD version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds. The RWD version completes the same sprint in 7.3 seconds.

Inside, the cabin design is largely based on the MG S5. It features a 12.8-inch infotainment screen, 11-speaker audio system, heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and front fog lamps.

In terms of technology, the MG S6 offers regenerative braking, one-pedal driving, and optional rain and night driving modes, similar to the IM 6.

While the front design resembles the MG S5, the rear design is noticeably different. Overall, the MG S6 presents itself as a more rugged and proper SUV.
