KATHMANDU: Ather Energy’s upcoming family-oriented electric scooter, the Konarc, has been leaked online ahead of its launch in India.
The leaked images show the Konarc with a more conventional design compared to Ather’s 450 series. The scooter gets an LED headlamp integrated into the handlebar cowl, along with a U-shaped LED daytime running light according to team-bhp.
At the rear, it gets an LED taillamp and a wide single-piece seat. The scooter also features a silver pillion grab rail with a backrest.
The Ather Konarc comes with a large touchscreen instrument console. It also gets a flat footboard and a small storage compartment on the front apron.
The electric scooter is based on Ather’s EL platform. It is expected to be available in four S variants and two Q variants. Depending on the battery option, the Konarc is expected to offer a range of 100 km to 200 km.
The scooter is likely to come with a built-in 450-watt charger. A separate 450-watt charger will also be available.
Using both chargers together will provide up to 900 watts of charging capacity. Ather is expected to claim a 0-80% charging time of around two hours.
The Konarc is also likely to feature Ather’s Airwalk function. The feature uses the motor to make it easier to move the scooter while walking alongside it.
Ather has yet to announce the official launch date, prices and complete specifications of the Konarc.
