KATHMANDU : BAIC has officially started sales of the BJ30e hybrid SUV in Nepal. The model was launched at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, which began today in Kathmandu.
Laxmi Motor Hub, the authorized distributor of BAIC vehicles in Nepal, has priced the BJ30e at Rs 11.996 million. The SUV comes with BAIC’s Magic Core Hybrid technology and a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine.
The company claims the BJ30e can travel up to 1,000 km on a 51-liter fuel tank, highlighting its focus on fuel efficiency and long-distance driving.
The BJ30e is designed with a strong focus on off-road capability. It offers 215 mm of ground clearance, along with a 25-degree approach angle and a 30-degree departure angle.
BAIC has also equipped the SUV with several off-road-focused displays. The instrument cluster shows information such as slope angle, pitch, altitude, tire pressure and compass status.
A wading mode is also available. It can monitor the water level in real time when driving through water.
The BJ30e also features multiple driving modes and hybrid functions. These include slow start, fast start, low-speed driving and regenerative braking.
Inside, the SUV gets a boxy yet feature-rich cabin. It features a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, an eight-speaker audio system, wireless charging and premium leather seats.
Safety features include eight airbags, a 360-degree camera, parking sensors and ADAS. These features are designed to improve both occupant safety and driving convenience.
The BAIC BJ30e is positioned as a hybrid SUV that combines everyday usability with off-road capability, making it one of the new premium SUV offerings introduced at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026.
