KATHMANDU: BYD Group has signed a three-year global partnership with the Italian football club FC Internazionale Milano, commonly known as Inter Milan, becoming the club’s official Global Automotive Partner.
The agreement marks one of the most significant collaborations between the automotive and football industries.
As part of the partnership, BYD will provide around 70 vehicles, including the BYD SEALION 7 for Inter’s top management, staff and players. A special Nerazzurri-inspired edition of the SEALION 7 will also be offered in limited numbers to Inter fans.
The partnership will include co-branded content, marketing campaigns and fan-oriented programs, including exclusive purchase and rental plans for BYD vehicles.
With plans to launch its premium brand DENZA in Europe soon, BYD sees this partnership as a strategic move to boost its presence in the continent. The group is also a sponsor of UEFA EURO 2024 and the upcoming UEFA U-21 Championship.
Inter, with over 533 million global supporters, is especially popular in China and South America which are key markets for BYD.
Inter Milan, founded in 1908, is one of Italy’s most successful football clubs with 46 major trophies. These include 20 Serie A titles and 3 UEFA Champions League wins.
The club has never been relegated from Serie A. It set records in 2006-07 with 30 wins and 97 points. In 2010, Inter became the first Italian club to win the treble.
As of May 2025, they hold a 972-day unbeaten home streak in the UEFA Champions League.
