KATHMANDU: CFMoto, a Chinese motorcycle company, is launching affordable, low-capacity bikes under its new sub-brand CFLite. The company made the announcement during the 2025 Makina Moto Expo held in the Philippines earlier this month.

CFMoto aims to target entry-level and mid-range buyers with this sub-brand.

According to the company, the CFLite brand will debut with three models: the 250 NK, 250 SR, and the all-new Dual 230. While the 250 NK and 250 SR were previously part of CFMoto’s main lineup, they will now transition to the CFLite brand. However, the Dual 230, a dual-purpose motorcycle, is a fresh addition designed to cater to versatile riding needs. It is powered by a 223cc single-cylinder carburetor engine, paired with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear dual-purpose tire setup. It boasts dual disc brakes, long-travel suspension, a digital display and halogen lights.

Meanwhile, CFMoto is making a comeback in the Indian market by mid-2025, with its adventure motorcycle, the 450 MT. The company launched in India in 2019 but exited in 2023 as it was unprepared for the country’s BS6 emission norms. It is now partnering with a new Indian distributor to introduce the 450 MT as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits. The company also plans to launch the 250 NK and 250 SR in the Indian market later on. However, the Dual 230’s carburetor engine may not meet India’s emission norms.

Rishi Trade Center, under the Reliance Group, represents CFMoto in Nepal. The company’s bikes, like the 450 MT, 250 NK, 250 SR and 450 NK, are already popular on Nepali roads. The new Dual 230 is expected to further strengthen CFMoto’s lineup in the domestic market. The Dual 230 will compete with bikes like the Hero X-Pulse 200 in the Nepali market.

Since Rishi Trade Center has started assembling bikes in Nepal, the Dual 230 is expected to launch at a competitive price.
