KATHMANDU: China has opened its first 7S humanoid robot store in Wuhan, Hubei Province, marking a major step forward for the nation’s robotics industry.
The store, named Optics Valley Humanoid Robot 7S Store, was established by the Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center.
The store showcases a wide range of robots, from boxing robots and intelligent bipedal robots to robot dogs. Prices range from around USD 1,100 to USD 110,000.
According to the Hubei Daily, the “7S” model expands on the familiar “4S” concept from the automotive sector, offering Sales, Spare parts, Service, Survey, Solution, Show, and School under one roof.
All robots and components are sourced from local Hubei suppliers, supported by research teams from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, and various tech companies in Optics Valley.
Customers can view, purchase, and even customize robot features in-store, with financial support options available, making the buying experience similar to purchasing a car.
The parts section displays locally produced chips, reducers, and robotic hands, ensuring original factory quality. Common parts are available the same day, while special components are delivered within three days.
The Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, founded in June 2025, is a joint initiative between the Wuhan East Lake High-Tech Development Zone, academician teams, and local universities and enterprises.
Based in the Optics Valley Digital Economy Industrial Park, it stands as China’s largest humanoid robot innovation platform, supporting research, manufacturing, and real-world applications across multiple industries.
