KATHMANDU : Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer Chufeng is preparing to enter Nepal’s electric pickup segment with the M31A. The model will be introduced by Life Matters Automotives, the brand’s official distributor in Nepal.
The company plans to launch the electric pickup by the end of August. Designed for commercial applications, the M31A targets businesses involved in cargo transport, agriculture, logistics, and small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Chufeng M31A measures 4,960 mm in length, 1,636 mm in width, and 2,000 mm in height. It offers more than 200 mm of ground clearance and has a 1,460 kg payload capacity, making it suitable for demanding commercial use.
Power comes from a 41.93 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which the company claims delivers a driving range of up to 280 km on a full charge. The pickup supports both 3.3 kW AC charging and DC fast charging.
The electric motor produces 35 kW of rated power and 70 kW of peak power, while generating 230 Nm of torque. The M31A has a claimed top speed of 90 km/h.
Safety and utility features include ABS, EBD, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, electric power steering, and a heavy-duty suspension setup aimed at carrying heavier loads on varied road conditions.
