KATHMANDU: Deepal electric vehicles in Nepal now come with an extended warranty, offering longer coverage on key EV components. MAW Vriddhi Autocorp, the authorized distributor of Deepal in Nepal, has announced an extended warranty for Deepal EV batteries and motors.
Under the new scheme, Deepal EV batteries are covered for up to 11 years or 300,000 kilometers, while the electric motor is covered for 11 years or 200,000 kilometers.
The extended warranty adds three years or 60,000 kilometers to the original warranty provided by the parent company, Changan Automobile. Changan currently offers an 8-year or 240,000-kilometer warranty on the battery and an 8-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty on the motor.
Through this extended warranty program, MAW Vriddhi claims to offer the longest EV battery warranty in Nepal. The company said the move is aimed at making EV ownership more worry-free for customers.
The extended warranty covers high-voltage battery parts, safety and control components, and manufacturing defects related to high-voltage EV systems. It also includes major electric motor system components such as the traction motor assembly and motor control unit.
Deepal EVs sold in Nepal are equipped with CATL’s Golden Shield battery and advanced electric motors developed by Changan Auto.
MAW Vriddhi Managing Director Vivek Sikaria said the extended warranty reflects the company’s confidence in the battery and motor technology and its commitment to customer peace of mind. He added that the program reinforces MAW Vriddhi’s long-term focus on supporting EV customers in Nepal.
