KATHMANDU: The Deepal S05, a new luxury electric crossover SUV, is expected to be launched in Nepal this week, possibly on Thursday.
MAW Vriddhi, the official distributor of Changan vehicles in Nepal, brought the S05 to the country following the success of the larger Deepal S07. Positioned in the compact SUV segment, the S05 combines luxury, style, and advanced technology, according to the company.
Winner of the prestigious iF Design Award in the automotive category, the S05 features an ‘Interstellar Wing’ design language which includes a closed front grille, protruding waistlines, hidden door handles and low wind resistance wheels. Inside, it offers premium touches including zero-gravity comfort seats with ventilation, leg support, memory function and one-touch nap mode. The car also comes with a 160-litre frunk, a 14-speaker surround sound system and refined interior craftsmanship.

Powered by CATL’s Golden Shield Battery System 2.0, the vehicle’s battery offers an ultra-long lifespan of up to 600,000 km with minimal performance loss.
The S05 is equipped with remote in-and-out parking, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS 2.0) with 19 safety features and a segment-first augmented reality head-up display projecting live navigation, traffic signals, and speed information onto the windshield.

While MAW Vriddhi has yet to reveal the official price, the S05 is expected to be priced between Rs 5 million and Rs 6 million. The company believes the new model will further strengthen Deepal’s position in the market.
