KATHMANDU: The driving license feature has reappeared on the Nagarik app after being offline for about a month and a half.
The “License Category” option became available again from Tuesday, allowing users to view their digital driving licenses through the platform.
The feature had been removed after the Department of Transport Management’s server was damaged during the Gen Z movement on September 8 and 9, when the department’s building was attacked. Following the restoration and reactivation of the server on Sunday, the department resumed the service on the Nagarik app.
According to the Department of Transport Management, the online license system operates through the Electronic Driving License and Vehicle Registration System (EDLVRS), which has now been fully integrated with the Nagarik app.
With the feature reinstated, drivers no longer need to carry a physical copy of their license. The digital version displayed on the Nagarik app can now be used for verification during traffic checks across the country.
