KATHMANDU: Thai Airways International has introduced its new Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a three-class configuration on the Kathmandu-Bangkok route, marking a major milestone for the Nepal market.
The upgraded service, which began on September 17, 2025, replaces the Boeing 777 and brings Premium Economy Plus, Premium Economy, and Economy Class options for the first time.
The new aircraft, configured for 264 passengers, offers 31 full-flat seats in Premium Economy Plus, 48 spacious seats in Premium Economy, and 185 seats in Economy Class. It features enhanced in-flight amenities, improved comfort, and THAI’s signature “Smooth as Silk” hospitality.
Thai Airways has been operating double daily flights to Kathmandu since October 26. The airline said the upgrade reflects its long-term commitment to the Nepal market and growing demand for premium travel between Nepal and Thailand.
In preparation for the launch, Thai Airways Nepal and its GSA, Society International Travel Services, conducted training sessions for local travel partners, including Travelport-Galileo Nepal and Sabre-Nepal, to familiarize them with the new products and services.
THAI has been serving Nepal since December 1968 and remains one of the key international carriers connecting Kathmandu to the world. The introduction of the A330-300 is expected to strengthen tourism, business travel, and connectivity between the two countries.
