KATHMANDU : Hyundai has unveiled the Neira Concept, a new seven-seat electric MPV, at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. The company has confirmed that the model will enter local production in Indonesia by the end of this year.
The Neira Concept joins Hyundai’s growing EV lineup and is designed to meet the needs of families looking for a spacious and practical electric people mover.
In terms of design, the Neira closely resembles the Kia Carens Clavis EV. However, Hyundai has given it a distinct identity with a redesigned front fascia, new LED lighting elements, unique alloy wheels and a revised rear design.
Inside, the electric MPV features a modern cabin with dual 12.3-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. It also gets a dedicated climate control panel, offering a layout similar to the Kia sibling.
Although Hyundai has not revealed detailed specifications, the Neira is expected to share its powertrain with the Carens Clavis EV. It is likely to be offered with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs.
The 42 kWh battery delivers a claimed MIDC-certified range of up to 404 km, while the larger 51.4 kWh battery offers up to 490 km on a single charge. Both battery packs support 100 kW DC fast charging, enabling a 10% to 80% recharge in around 39 minutes.
Hyundai will manufacture the Neira at its Indonesian production facility. The company said the electric MPV has been developed specifically for Indonesian families, with a focus on space, practicality and sustainable mobility.
For now, the Neira is confirmed only for Indonesia. However, Hyundai could expand its availability to other Asian markets at a later stage.
