KATHMANDU : The competition in Nepal’s electric SUV market is getting stronger. Two of the closest rivals in the Rs 5 million segment are the MG S5 Luxury (49 kWh) and the GWM Ora 5 High.
The MG S5 Luxury has been on sale in Nepal for the past 17 months at Rs 4.999 million. The GWM Ora 5 entered the market only recently. Its mid variant is priced at Rs 4.699 million, while the top variant costs Rs 5.199 million. Since the prices are close, this comparison focuses on the top-spec Ora 5 High.
Although the price difference is only Rs 200,000, the two SUVs differ in battery size, driving dynamics, ride comfort and overall ownership experience.
Similar features, different characters
The MG S5 and GWM Ora 5 are both modern electric SUVs designed for family use. They offer advanced safety features, connected technology and practical everyday usability.
