KATHMANDU: Honda Motor Company has announced plans to launch 10 new models in India by 2030, including seven SUVs. The move marks the brand’s effort to strengthen its position in one of the world’s fastest-growing auto markets.

Currently, Honda’s India lineup includes only the Elevate SUV, City, and Amaze sedans. The limited range has affected its market share as demand for SUVs continues to rise.

With this new plan, Honda aims to compete more strongly with brands like Suzuki, Toyota, and Hyundai.

Honda President and CEO Toshihiro Mibe shared the plan during the Japan Mobility Show. He said the company is preparing an aggressive launch strategy with more than 10 models by 2030, seven of which will be SUVs, according to Autocar.

Honda has also formed a special project team to focus on India’s market strategy. Among the upcoming SUVs, some will be global models, while others will be developed specifically for Indian customers.
