KATHMANDU: Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt Ltd, the authorized distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Nepal, has launched a special pre-budget discount scheme on its electric vehicles (EVs).

Issuing a statement, the company said the new scheme is aimed at making EV ownership more accessible ahead of the new fiscal year.

According to the company, the limited-time offer, valid from May 19 to May 28, applies to Hyundai’s three flagship EVs—the KONA Electric, the award-winning IONIQ 5 and the CRETA EV. Under the scheme, customers purchasing any of these models will receive free insurance coverage, free road tax and a special cash discount. The company says this offer provides significant savings while promoting sustainable mobility in Nepal.

Laxmi Hyundai has said that the initiative is a proactive move to give customers an advantageous window to transition to electric driving before potential changes in tax policy with the upcoming budget.

In addition to the offer, Laxmi Hyundai is also strengthening its EV ecosystem with the expansion of its RE-Lax charging network. The network currently includes 66 active charging stations, with both DC and AC chargers installed at strategic locations nationwide.

“This assures customers the same trusted service, parts availability, and after-sales support,” the company added in the statement.
