KATHMANDU: Komatsu has launched the PC9000-12 electric excavator for global markets. It is the largest hydraulic excavator ever built by the company.

The machine can move up to 80 tons of material per pass. It offers a production capacity of over 8,000 tons per hour. The excavator was earlier deployed at a mining site in Alberta, Canada.

Designed for large-scale mining, the PC9000-12 features a grid-connected electric drive. This helps reduce emissions, noise, and vibration while maintaining high performance.

It is available in multiple configurations, including face shovel and backhoe setups. The excavator is also compatible with Komatsu’s FrontRunner Autonomous Haulage System to improve efficiency.

Komatsu has started global deliveries through its dealer network.
