KATHMANDU: ZXMOTO has made history by becoming the first Chinese manufacturer to win a race in the World Superbike Championship. The victory came with its flagship supersport, the ZXMOTO 820RR-RS.
The brand was founded in 2024 by Zhang Xue, who also established KOVE. ZXMOTO entered the public market in 2025 and showcased its lineup at EICMA 2025, including the 820RR-R and 820RR-RS.
The historic win came at Portimao. Rider Valentin Debise secured victory in both Race 1 and Race 2 on the 820RR-RS. He won Race 1 by 3.685 seconds and Race 2 by 0.5 seconds. These were only the third and fourth races for the brand in WSBK.

The quick success places ZXMOTO among the fastest-rising teams. Only Ducati and Triumph have recorded faster race wins in their debut campaigns.
The ZXMOTO 820RR-R is powered by an 819cc inline-three engine producing around 135 hp. The 820RR-RS delivers up to 150 hp. It comes with Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes, Akrapovič exhaust, and lightweight components.
In China, the 820RR-R is priced at around $6,400. The 820RR-RS costs about $1,000 to $2,000 more, depending on specifications.
