KATHMANDU: The LEV X, a new electric SUV from Chinese brand LS Auto, has arrived in Kathmandu.

Nexon Ventures, the official distributor of LS Auto in Nepal, brought the all-wheel-drive SUV to the Chobhar Customs Office.

The company had planned to showcase both the LEV X and LEV Five on the first day of the NADA Auto Show. However, the plan was delayed after a landslide near the Tatopani Customs Office.

According to Vikas Shah, Managing Director of Nexon Ventures, the customs process for the LEV X will be completed today. The SUV will then be displayed at the NADA Auto Show starting tomorrow. Meanwhile, the LEV Five is still in China and will not be showcased this year.

About LEV X

The LEV X is the four-wheel-drive version of the LEV 01, which is already available in Nepal. It comes with a ground clearance of 210 mm, the highest in its segment.

Though it looks similar to the LEV 01 from the outside, the company says the interior has been updated with new AC vents and a fresh design. The SUV is powered by a dual motor setup producing 198 kW of combined power. It also has a larger battery pack of 77 kWh, compared to the 67 kWh battery in the LEV 01.

LS Auto’s other premium hatchback, the LEV 05, is designed to compete with models like the BYD Dolphin and Nami 01 in the Nepali market.
