KATHMANDU: JSW Sarbloh Motors, a division of JSW Defense, has joined forces with Tomcar USA to manufacture the rugged Tomcar TX all-terrain vehicles (ATVs)  in India. The ATVs will be assembled at its Chandigarh plant, with the first units expected by early 2026.

An ATV, or quad bike, is a four-wheeled vehicle built for off-road use.

The Tomcar TX is designed for tough jobs like reconnaissance, patrol, border security, and rapid response. Its versatile modular design allows it to seat up to five passengers or transform into a two-seat pickup, capable of hauling up to 1,200 kg of cargo.

The TX offers a choice between hybrid and electric powertrains, making it a modern, eco-conscious option. It’s equipped with independent suspension, robust underbody protection, and high ground clearance to tackle challenging terrains. Plus, it’s compatible with armor kits and advanced communication systems, making it ideal for specialized operations.

In Nepal, ATVs, commonly known as quad bikes are popular in mountain adventure tourism and farm transport in hilly regions. They are widely used for jungle rides in Chitwan and fun rides in Pokhara, Mustang, Dolpa and Manang.

Brands like Polaris, CF Moto, Yamaha and TaoTao & Kayo are available in Nepal’s ATV market.
