The company’s average monthly sales surpassed 80,000 units in April. The company’s overall vehicle sales reached 84,170 units during the month, industry data shows. The SUV segment continues to dominate the company’s overall sales with 52,330 SUVs sold in April.
Mahindra’s SUVs are highly popular in India. Models such as the Scorpio Classic, Scorpio N, Thar, Thar, XUV 700, XUV 400 and Bolero, along with electric offerings, XEV9 and BE6, continue to strengthen the brand’s foothold in the SUV market.
Two EVs models launching in Nepal soon
Mahindra’s fully electric SUVs the XEV9 and BE6 are launching in the Nepali market shortly.
According to Agni Inc, the authorized distributor of Mahindra in Nepal, road testing of both SUVs will begin within a week.
“Both SUVs are arriving in Nepal shortly. Road testing will start once they arrive,” sources at Agni Inc told Mero Auto. “The SUVs will go on sale after the budget speech.”
The government is presenting the budget for the next fiscal year, which begins in mid-July, on May 28.
Cabinet Shrestha, Chairperson of Agni Group, confirmed that sales of the two EVs will begin right after the budget is unveiled.
The rising demand for electric vehicles in Nepal has prompted Mahindra to expand its EV lineup in the domestic market. The upcoming models feature distinct designs but share similar battery capacity and most technical specifications.
Mahindra, which previously sold the E2O electric hatchback in Nepal, is currently offering the XUV400 electric SUV in the local market.
