Isuzu to launch electric variant of D-Max pickup truck

KATHMANDU: Isuzu has unveiled an electric version of its popular pickup truck, the D-Max.

The Japanese carmaker is also bringing the electric D-Max in an all-wheel variant.

The all-electric D-Max delivers 190 horsepower and 325 Nm of peak torque. According to the company, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds.

The pickup truck is powered by a 66.9 kWh battery, which offers a WLTP-certified range of 262 kilometers. The D-Max supports 50 kW DC fast charging that can fill the battery from 20% to 80% in approximately one hour.

Isuzu has claimed that the new electric D-Max offers improved off-road capabilities over its internal combustion engine (ICE) predecessor. It features 210 mm of ground clearance, can wade through water up to 600 mm deep, and boasts an approach angle of 30.5 degrees and a departure angle of 24.2 degrees.

Designed for rugged use, the pickup includes a rough terrain mode, a payload capacity of 1,000 kg and a towing capacity of 3,500 kg. The front fascia has been reimagined with a bold and aggressive design.

Inside, the D-Max offers an SUV-inspired cabin with premium seats, a large infotainment system and a three-spoke steering wheel. It comes equipped with a digital instrument cluster and a full suite of advanced safety features.
