KATHMANDU: Maruti Suzuki has teased its upcoming midsize SUV, codenamed Y17, ahead of its official launch on September 3, 2025.
The new 5-seater model will be positioned between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara and sold through the company’s Arena dealerships.
The teaser reveals an L-shaped LED taillight with a dynamic turn indicator, while the overall design is expected to draw inspiration from the e Vitara. Powertrain options are likely to mirror those of the Grand Vitara, including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid.
Positioned as a value-for-money option, the Y17 will compete with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki has started exporting the e Vitara electric SUV to Europe. The model is produced at the company’s Gujarat manufacturing facility.

The first batch, consisting of over 2,900 units, was shipped from Pipavav port in Gujarat to 12 European markets, including the UK, Germany, France, Norway and Sweden.
CG MotoCorp, the authorized distributor of Suzuki in Nepal, showcased the e Vitara at the NADA Auto Show 2025. According to the company, customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in October.
