KATHMANDU: Mercedes-Benz has revealed the next-generation electric V-Class, called the Mercedes Benz VLE. The new electric van is the first model built on the company’s VAN.EA electric platform and offers a claimed driving range of more than 700 km.
The design of the VLE takes inspiration from the Mercedes-Benz Vision V Concept unveiled in 2025. The electric van will be available in two body sizes: a standard version measuring 5,309 mm in length with a 3,342 mm wheelbase, and a long-wheelbase version measuring 5,484 mm with a 3,517 mm wheelbase.

The front features a large grille with an illuminated surround, dual LED headlamps with star-shaped signature lights, and a full-width LED light bar. At the rear, the van gets a large windshield and a continuous LED strip forming an inverted U-shaped lighting signature.
Like the current V-Class, the VLE features sliding rear doors. Inside, it offers a three-spoke steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 14-inch central touchscreen, while a 14-inch passenger display is available as an option. Customers can choose between two center console layouts, including a compact console or a full-length floor console between the front seats.

The electric van comes with three-row seating as standard and can accommodate up to eight passengers. Buyers can also opt for Mercedes’ Grand Comfort seats with recline and massage functions and individual wireless charging pads. Rear passengers get a 31.3-inch roof-mounted panoramic screen connected to a 22-speaker Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos support.

Powering the VLE is a 115 kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of more than 700 km. The VLE 300 uses a single electric motor mounted on the front axle producing 268 BHP, while the VLE 400 4Matic features dual electric motors with a combined output of 387 BHP.
The electric van supports fast charging up to 300 kW, allowing up to 355 km of range to be added in around 15 minutes. It also features air suspension with self-leveling and rear-axle steering.
