MG U9 electric pickup launched in Nepal, priced from Rs 9.899 million

KATHMANDU : MG Motor has introduced the U9 electric pickup in Nepal. Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of MG in the country, unveiled the pickup at the ongoing NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026.

The MG U9 is available in two variants: Luxury and Flagship. They are priced at Rs 9.899 million and Rs 11 million, respectively.

The electric pickup is positioned around performance, off-road capability and modern technology.

The U9 uses a dual permanent magnet synchronous motor setup. The front motor produces 125 kW, while the rear motor produces 200 kW. Together, the system delivers 325 kW of power and 700 Nm of torque.

The pickup can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. Its top speed is rated at 190 km/h.

Power comes from a 102.2 kWh LFP battery pack. MG claims a WLTP range of up to 430 km on a single charge.

The battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in around 42 minutes using DC fast charging, according to the company.

The MG U9 comes with air suspension, double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. It also offers nine different driving modes.

Inside, the pickup gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Other features include an eight-speaker audio system and leather seats.

The top-spec Flagship variant adds ventilation, massage and memory functions to the driver’s seat.
