KATHMANDU: Bajaj Auto is set to launch a new model under the Chetak electric scooter lineup on January 14, 2026 in India. The company has released a teaser showing a horizontal LED taillight with the Chetak badge positioned above it.
The upcoming Chetak has already been spotted during road tests. Spy images suggest the electric scooter may switch to a hub-mounted motor, a move expected to help reduce costs compared to the current setup.
In terms of design, the new model appears to be an evolution of the existing Chetak. The test vehicle features a compact body, a digital instrument cluster, an oval LED headlamp with an LED DRL ring, and a flat seat.
Bajaj is expected to base the new Chetak on a new platform, with multiple battery pack options likely to be offered. Further details are expected to be revealed at the official launch.
