KATHMANDU: Nationwide protests have intensified following Monday’s incident in which 19 people were killed during the Gen Z demonstrations.
Despite a curfew in the capital, rallies continue in Kathmandu, while youth-led protests have spread to cities across the country.
Protesters condemning the killings have blocked major roads leading to the Kathmandu Valley, including the Prithvi Highway.
In the Simle area of Dhading district, demonstrators are halting traffic, while in Hetauda and Manahari in Makwanpur district, protesters have set tires on fire to block the road.
Beyond the Kathmandu Valley, disruptions have also affected the East-West Highway, which has been blocked in several locations.
Meanwhile, a section of the road in Daunne has remained closed since 3:00 AM due to damage, with authorities urging travelers to use alternative routes in case of emergencies.
