KATHMANDU: Vehicle movement in the Kathmandu Valley has resumed after several days of disruption caused by youth-led protests.

Daily life is slowly returning to normal following the appointment of Sushila Karki as Prime Minister of the interim government on Friday night. The curfew and restrictions imposed in the Valley have been lifted.

With this, traffic on the roads has increased and the Nepali Army has allowed more vehicle movement.

Traffic police have been deployed at key locations. Public transport, which had been shut for five days, resumed this morning. Buses, taxis and other vehicles are now operating within the Valley.

According to traffic police, long-distance buses from Chitwan have already departed for Kathmandu, while vehicles heading out of the Valley will be allowed to operate from this evening.
