KATHMANDU: A train hit a car near Thapachok in Brahmpuri, Janakpur Dham Sub-Metropolitan City-9, Dhanusha, on Sunday morning.
The Nepal Railway train was coming from Piparadhi Station in Mahottari when it struck the car, registered as Bagmati Province-01 025 Cha 1290.
According to Barun Bahadur Singh, Information Officer at the Dhanusha District Police Office, the accident happened when the car tried to cross the tracks towards Janaki Temple. Singh said the driver saw the train but still attempted to drive over the crossing. The car could not pass in time and was hit.
The driver suffered minor injuries. The car’s driver-side and the front part of the train were damaged.
