KATHMANDU: JSW Motors has filed a design patent for the Jetour T2 SUV in India. The model will be among the first products under the company’s partnership with China’s Chery.
Earlier, JSW had released a teaser image while announcing its dealer recruitment drive. The Jetour T2 is expected to debut later this year around Diwali.
The Jetour T2 is built on a monocoque chassis. It features a boxy SUV design with an upright stance and squared wheel arches. The front gets rectangular LED headlamps and a chunky bumper. At the rear, it has a slab-style design with a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
In the Indian market, the Jetour T2 is expected to be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It uses a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 154 BHP and 220 Nm of torque.

The hybrid system includes two front-mounted electric motors with a combined output of 221 BHP and 390 Nm. The SUV is equipped with a 26.7 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed electric-only range of 139 km under the NEDC cycle.
The Jetour T2 plug-in hybrid SUV will compete in the growing electrified SUV segment in India. More details are expected closer to launch.
