KATHMANDU: The Jetour T2 SUV is set to enter the Nepali market soon, generating early interest among SUV enthusiasts. With its rugged styling, off-road-focused engineering, and long list of premium features, the model has already gained popularity in several international markets and is expected to appeal to buyers looking for a capable lifestyle SUV.
Jetour, represented in Nepal by Laxmi Group, is an SUV-focused brand under China’s Chery Holding Group. While many automakers have increasingly positioned compact crossovers as SUVs in recent years, Jetour has remained focused on developing vehicles with genuine off-road capability from the outset.
The Jetour T2 measures 4,785 mm in length, 2,006 mm in width, and 1,875 mm in height. It rides on a 2,800 mm wheelbase and offers 580 liters of luggage space, making it suitable for family travel as well as long-distance journeys.
Globally, the T2 is available with both petrol and i-DM plug-in hybrid powertrains. Buyers can choose between front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations, depending on the market. Jetour Nepal has not yet confirmed which variant will be introduced locally, although the AWD version is widely expected given Nepal’s diverse road conditions.
The SUV has been developed with off-road driving in mind. It features a large greenhouse for improved visibility, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and a transparent chassis (underbody view) function that helps drivers navigate rough terrain and tight spaces with greater confidence.
Safety is another highlight. Depending on the market and variant, the T2 is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags.
The exterior combines rugged styling with modern detailing. It features full-LED lighting, 20-inch alloy wheels, a muscular box-shaped profile, a panoramic sunroof, power-folding outside mirrors, and connected LED tail lamps.
Inside, the cabin adopts a premium layout centered around a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. A 12-speaker Sony audio system further enhances the in-cabin experience.
The T2 also offers a range of comfort and convenience features, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats with memory function, and heated and ventilated front seats.
Pricing and final specifications for the Nepali market are yet to be announced. However, with its combination of rugged capability, premium equipment, modern technology, and strong safety package, the Jetour T2 is expected to emerge as a strong contender in Nepal’s premium SUV segment.
